Well, here I go once more…

After a few years away from blogging, I am back at it.  I have been dragging my feet for years, but I finally decided to just get started doing….something.  The site is not set up right, I have no real ‘social media presence’, and I really don’t have any idea of what I hope to accomplish by doing this blog—and yet, here I am anyway.

Actually, the last part of that statement is not quite true:  I hope to entertain those who read this with a funny story or two, ask open-ended questions about what is going on in the world, and, yes, occasionally rant about something that bothers me.  I think of it as the warm-up to that stage in my life where I’ll sit on my porch in my boxer shorts and shake my fists at any who dare get too close to my property line, and starting all of my sentences with “Well, back in MY day….”.

For those who know me and remember my blog regarding life in Shanghai, welcome back!  I still have some China stories to share, along with more tales of our family travels both here and abroad.  Hopefully you’ll find this blog as entertaining as the last one.

For those who never read that blog, or accidentally Googled this site, perhaps looking for “Rabid Weasels”, a little bit about me:  I am a stay at home dad with way too much free time.  I have lived most of my life in California, both north and south, with a few years living in Shanghai sprinkled in.  I like to tell a good story, and I am using this platform to practice doing that in written form.  I’ll share more as I go along, but in a nutshell I’m just a guy with access to a PC, and free time to use it.  We’ll see how it goes in the coming months….
